Here’s how it works:  If you book an event with Flash Entertainment Services during the months of April 2012, May 2012 and June 2012, you will be eligible to be entered into our July 1, 2012 drawing for $1000 cash. New Years Resolution Status Check

Here we are…. 23 days into the New Year and I’m sure many of you made New Year resolutions. We at Flash Entertainment Services did so too! Now the common ones like getting in shape, losing that baby weight, spending more time with the family and trying something new are all worthy goals. So what was yours and how are you doing so far? We are as busy as bees coming up with exciting ways to make our clients experience even richer and even more entertaining. Complete Desire and Special Guest- ELVIS!!!

Recently, Complete Desire on Fire did a wedding when out of nowhere a surprise special guest appeared—-Elvis! Yes, the myth, the man, the legend himself. It was a fun surprise for the couple and guests alike. What this reminded us of was the necessity for brevity and fun on these special occasions. Sometimes people get so wrapped up in details and planning that they forget that the whole purpose is fun. So while planning a special event is an important and sometimes detail-ridden endeavor, don’t for get to pencil in the fun!! All of our bands know how to bComplete Desire and Special Guestring the fun!! Tips for Hiring A Band-One That Won’t Put Your Guests to Sleep

Being in this business, we hear a ton of nightmare stories. Stories of bands that were untalented, rowdy, inappropriate or just plain BORING.  Well let’s figure out how to make sure that doesn’t happen to you. If you want the cliff-notes version, I could simply tell you to hire one of the bands at Flash Entertainment Services and that would be that. (-: But…here’s the encyclopedia/google research version:

Tip #1: First select the tone you’d like your event to have. Look for bands that are able to match your tone. If you want your band to provide background and ambiance only, narrow your search for that type of band. If you want a party where the guests are on their feet all night and feel like they are at a concert, then you need to search for that type of band.

Tip #2. Now that you know the type of band you need, you’ll need to how to weed out the riff raff. For more a more detailed discussion, I covered this in an older blog entitled “Happy Hunting”. In a nut shell, watch as many videos as you can…promotional and live…. from sources like Youtube. Also, ask for contactable references. Once you get them…actually contact them. You’d be surprised at how many people hope you never ask for the references contact info.  And even more surprised at how few people actually contact the references.

And Finally…….

Tip #3  Pay attention to how the band handles any contact with you. You definitely want a professional band. If they handle don’t handle their business professionally, you can be sure they won’t handle your event professionally.

Party Bands, Wedding Bands and Corporate Bands! Oh My!!

If your old enough or a movie buff enough to remember the classic, The Wizard of Oz, you no doubt remember the chant- Lions, Tigers and Bears-Oh My! This well-known chant was used to signify fear and more exactly fear of things unseen or unknown. Well, when it comes to choosing a band, this is just how some people feel–fearful. But, there’s really no need for that. Trust me. We recognize that choosing a band for your event is extremely important. Things can go very right or very wrong depending on who you choose.  So, one of our missions at Flash Entertainment Services is to take away that fear and make your decision an easy one.  We only represent special event bands that are top quality. Therefore, any of the bands we manage are professional and superbly talented. Unlike other places (agencies) that have hundreds of bands that they have never heard live and have never met the personnel, we know every band member. We hire each musician and singer personally and conduct the auditions personally. On top of that, we supervise all rehearsals. No agency can claim any of this. Atlanta Party Band… And Beyond

Ok…here’s an answer to a commonly asked question. Yes, we travel…ANYWHERE! Flash Entertainment Services is based in Atlanta, but believe it or not, about 90% of our special event bands performances are outside of the Atlanta area.  There are tons of Atlanta bands that perform mainly locally and there are many that travel. The fabulous thing about being a traveling band is seeing new places, new people and new experiences. Recently, we had bands in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and Houston, Texas—Both were fabulous events with fabulously different people and fabulously different settings. Traveling so much makes the experience run so much smoother. The bands are experienced enough to foresee any possible problems in route and more importantly how to avoid them or quickly rectify them if they occur. There’s nothing like experience. Wouldn’t you agree?  While travelling is great, we love performing at home (the Atlanta area). Atlanta is a beautiful city full of beautiful venues for all sorts of parties, celebrations and special events. Our musicians agree that the benefit of in town performances is being able to sleep in their own bed after the show. LOL  So I hope we’ve answered the question. Trust Your Gut

Often, we spend a lot of time evaluating and re-evaluating the decisions we make.  Now this sounds like a good thing, at first glance, because we should pay careful attention to the decisions we make. Right? But, sometimes what seems to be evaluation can really be indecisiveness and lead to going nowhere (except in circles). Sometimes it is ok to trust your gut feelings (as scary as it is).  The gut feeling is an intangible, unexplainable tug at our mind and heart that will often steer us in the right direction (if we let it). Flash Entertainment Services was started from a gut feeling years ago. Trusting our gut had paid off in miles of smiles. We’re happy that our gut led us to providing quality entertainment for special events and bringing happiness to many people. We hope you learn to trust yours.

Toasts and Cheers

We are in the business of Celebration! We are fortunate to be a part of some the brightest moments in peoples lives and some of the happiest times. Having a party band at your bright and happy times only enhances the memories. We are often reminded of this while on the road going from city to city. We see people who remember and remind us of fun times they’ve had with our bands in years past or even the previous week. We love hearing those accounts because it let’s us know that our bands are doing just what they were created to do–Creating lasting memories in those moments of Toasts and Cheers! Here’s to you!! The Common Denominator

In all the years our bands have been doing weddings, there is a common denominator. The places may vary from big cities to the countriest (<— Flash Entertainment Servicesmade up word) of small towns.  The venues may vary from ballrooms to the backyard and food may be anything from exotic French cuisine to barbecue and grits. There’s still that common denominator. You might think I’m going to say that common denominator is LOVE.  That would seem to be the obvious connection, but it is not what we’ve found. That common denominator is CELEBRATION. No matter what, the clients are looking to celebrate and have a great time. This is the time the clients hope to forget about all of the family squabbles, the manic frenzy of wedding planning, the pain of dieting to fit into that beloved wedding dress…etc The wedding reception will be the culmination of many weeks/months of anticipation and now it’s time to CELEBRATE!! We are happy to be of service!
